Obituary of David Thomas Parker

DAVID THOMAS PARKER David, late of Regina, SK passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on March 26, 2015 after a brief battle with cancer. David was born into a large family, with six sisters and two brothers. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Beth, as well as one brother and one sister. He is survived and greatly missed by his first wife (and best friend), Karen Filleul and their children, Eric Godin (Andrea), Jamie Parker (Aaron), Robin Parker (Krista) and Karen’s daughter Alexandria Filleul, as well as six grandchildren, whom he adored. He is also survived by his second wife, Rhonda Barry, and Rhonda’s children Scott, Taylor, Theresa and their families. David was known to many as the friendly face of Forget Me Not Frame and Picture Shoppe, which was located in the Galleria Mall during the late 80's and early 90's. He went on to become an important part of CertaPro Painters where he spent many years and became the first Journeyman Painter in Saskatchewan. More recently, he could be found at SIAST and the General Hospital as an employee of Parklink. David had a great love of music and playing guitar, was an avid reader, enjoyed walks around Wascana Lake, and spent much time volunteering with Bright Eyes Dog Rescue, the charity founded by his daughter. David always had a smile on his face and a friendly greeting for all. He didn't go anywhere without making friends, many who lasted a lifetime. His loss will be felt by many. A come and go gathering of friends and family will be held at 2175 Montague Street on Saturday, May 9, 2015 between 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Please come and share your stories.
