George Bell

Obituary of George Alfred Bell

George passed away at home following a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Beverley, sons, Randy and Bill (Kim); five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Miles, Wes (Norma), Ken (Olive); and numerous nieces and nephews. George lived in Regina his entire life, except during his period of service with the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II. Following the war, George continued his military service in the Army Reserves with the 14th Field Engineers and the Royal Regina Rifles. Outside of the military, George's service to his community continued as he worked many years as a teacher for the Regina Public School Board until retiring in 1989. During his retirement he enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Katepwa Lake, creating many fond memories for his family. The family would like to extend their thanks to RQHR Home Care and Palliative Home Care for their great support during George's illness. As per George's request there will not be a service. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make a donation in George's memory to a charity of their choice.
