Obituary of Maria Clementine Sassen

Maria Sassen of Pense, Saskatchewan, died on May 5, 2015 at Pasqua Hospital in Regina. She was predeceased by her husband, Heinz Sassen; and her brother August Hauser. Born in Geldern, Germany in 1930, she was the daughter of August Hauser and Gertrud Tenbieg Hauser. She married Heinz in 1955. They immigrated to Canada in 1978 and farmed near Pense. She especially enjoyed the outdoors, sewing, spending time with the grandkids, and gardening. She is survived by her daughters, Marlies Persch (Charles) of Parkesburg, Pennsylvania and Brigitte Sassen (Lorne Falkenstein) of Hamilton, Ontario; her sister Antonia Heyes of Germany; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Rosary Cathedral, Garnet Street and 13th Avenue in Regina on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Interment services will be in Parkesburg PA.
