Obituary of Kenneth Stewart MacDonald

It is with love, gratitude and sadness, we announce the passing of Ken MacDonald. Ken died peacefully after a short illness with his daughter and son at his side. Predeceased by Shirley, his beloved wife of 49 years; parents Angus and Annie and brother Ron. Ken is survived by his daughter Judy MacDonald of Regina; son Murray (Laura) of Enderby, B.C.; grandaughters Alison (Amos), Shana (Ray) of Nelson, B.C.; great-grandson Eli and special friend May Ostlund. Born in Whitewood, SK., Ken’s family moved to Regina when he was three years old. Ken took his schooling at Scott Collegiate and in 1944 joined the armed forces. In 1945, he enrolled at Success Business School and soon after took a position with the Government of Saskatchewan as a clerk. At his retirement, after 40 years of public service, Ken had risen to become Director of Personnel for the Department of Health. Ken had a lifelong passion for golf and walked the links until the age of 85. He held Roughrider season tickets from 1948-2012. Ken loved music, dancing, watching people and was a good listener. A Celebration of Life will be held at Whitmore Park United Church, 336 Durham Drive, Regina, SK., on Saturday June 20, 2015 at 2 :00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation to the charity of your choice.
