Carinda Burchi

Obituary of Carinda "Dinda" Burchi

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carinda (Dinda) Burchi, wife, mother, nonna and sister on May 21, 2015. Dinda was born on April 22, 1926 in Frassinoro, Modena, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1955. She was predeceased by her father and mother Agostino and Claudia Pieracci, sister Lia Boroli, brother Carlo Pieracci, brothers-in-law Franco Fracchia, Tony Tazzioli, and nephew Roy Tazzioli, as well as family and friends in Canada, Italy and Venezuela. Left to cherish her memory are husband Raul, son Steven (Jackie) Burchi, granddaughters Ariana (Sammy) McCullough, and Kirsten Burchi, sisters Valeria Fracchia, Dina Tazzioli, brother-in-law Edmondo (Elide) Burchi and families, and many other family and friends in Canada, Italy and Venezuela. After Dinda immigrated to Regina she married the love of her life Raul, and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage. Nothing made her prouder than her son Steven whom she adored with all her heart. Becoming Nonna to Ariana and Kirsten was a highlight of her life, there was nothing she wouldn't do for them. Dinda spent 36 years working in the Central Supply Room at the Pasqua Hospital, a job she took pride in and made many friends while there. Dinda and Raul were instrumental in establishing the Guglielmo Marconi Italian Club, where they spent many years as members. Dinda was an amazing cook, and nobody made Tortellini soup and homemade bread like she did. Her love of gardening and tending to her flowers was a passion of hers, and every season Dinda and Raul would make homemade tomato sauce together from their garden. Dinda spent time over the years visiting people in hospitals and nursing homes, as she had a very caring heart. A special thank you to the nursing staff on 5E at the General Hospital for their wonderful care. Funeral Mass will be held at Little Flower R.C. Church, 420 College Avenue, Regina on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 10:30 a.m., with lunch to follow. Flowers most graciously declined, but donations in Dinda's name to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan Inc., #301 – 2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8, would be greatly appreciated
