Obituary of William John Young

William (Bill) Young, died peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Veterans' unit of the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre in Regina. He was 98 years of age. He was predeceased by his wife Monica; sisters Beatrice Smith, Margaret Van Ness, Anna Forsberg, Dorothy Bradley, Alyce Dolmage, Marna Hill; brother Ernie Young; cousin David Young and nephews Mark Smith and David Young. Bill is survived by his cousin James and twelve nephews and nieces. Bill was born and raised in Saskatchewan. He lived in many centres across the country during his years as a business executive, including years as President and CEO of Metropolitan Stores. Bill and his wife Monica travelled extensively around the globe. They retired to London, Ontario, and Florida. Bill enjoyed a special relationship with his nephew Rod Dolmage and his wife Bonita both in London and later in Regina. Bill generously supported many charities. His was a life well lived. He was a very gracious gentleman and a proud veteran who will be missed by all who knew him. The family is extremely appreciative of the care Bill received on the Veterans' Ward (3-5) in the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre. A Memorial Service will take place at First Presbyterian Church, 2170 Albert Street, Regina, SK, on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
