Obituary of Carol Ann Gilchrist

It is with great sadness that the family of Carol Ann Gilchrist announce her passing on May 26, 2015, at the age of 72 years with her loving family by her side. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Frances & Allan McIver; Sisters, Shirley Bartlett and Sharon Kaufmann; Mother and Father in-law Verda and William Gilchrist; Brothers in-law, Brian Kaufmann, Robert Reevie, Forrest Gilchrist, Melvin Gilchrist and Laverne Gilchrist; Sisters in-law, Ruth Reevie, Gertrude Gilchrist and Illa Gilchrist. Survived by her best friend and loving husband of almost 53 years, Jim Gilchrist; Daughter Tracie Gilchrist; Son Curtis (Kaela) Gilchrist; Daughter Bev (Monty) Poirier; Grandchildren, Dustin, Sydney, Destiny, Tyson, Austin, Maclean, Kaylin, Terence (Bonnie), and Tasha (Kyle); Brother Johnny(Myrna) McIver; Brothers in-law Eddie Bartlett, Scotty (Shirley) Gilchrist and Dutch (Arvella) Gilchrist; Sister in-law Lee Gilchrist and many nieces and nephews. Carol was born in Weyburn on April 30, 1943. She was raised on a farm near Colfax and attended Lewvan, Yellow Grass and QDS School and Business School in Regina. Growing up, Carol was involved with helping on the farm with all the typical chores. In 1962, she married Jim and together, they farmed and raised their three children. Her Grandchildren were the “apple of her eye” and most proud to support them in their sporting, musical and personal endeavors. Family was Carol’s passion, she was so very proud of all of her children and grandchildren. The beautiful love that Carol and Jim shared was truly inspiring and infectious. Memorial Service will be at the Milestone United Church, 910 Prairie Avenue, Milestone, SK., on Monday June 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Carol may be made to the MICU of the Regina General Hospital, 1440 14 Avenue, Regina, SK., S4P 0W5 or a charity of your choice.
