Obituary of James Ziegler

Beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, James Ziegler, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 27 at the age of 94. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Gertrude; his wife of 56 years, Irene; brothers Frank Ziegler, Adam Ziegler, Edward Ziegler; sisters Christina (Jake) Knoll, Rose (Larry) Stoppler, Anne (Joseph) Marte, Gertrude (Norman) Trueman, Eva (Bill) Parker and great grandson Noah Munchinsky. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Darlene (Ralph) Munchinsky, Barry (Sherry) Ziegler, Murray (Katy) Ziegler, Delores Gottselig (Randy), Lori (Jim) Masson and Bev (Kelly) DeDecker; grandchildren, Carrie (Darren) Kiel, Janis (Gabe) Fernandez, Bradley (Larissa) Munchinsky, Ronnie Ziegler (Blake), Logan Ziegler (Joelle), Kelly Ziegler (Sean), Lindsey Ziegler, Brittany (Sandy) Bain, Scott Gottselig, Jodi (Kaare) Christensen, Devin Masson, Stephanie (Kris) Belfour, Kelsey Masson, Jenell Masson, Travis Ziegler and Kyle DeDecker; great grandchildren, Matthew, Taylor, Emily, Josiah, Allianna, Lydia, Joshua, Natalie and Mylah. He is also survived by brother Jerry (Marg) Ziegler; sisters Evelyn (Bob) Richards and Pat Stoppler; sisters in law Anne Ziegler and Monika Ziegler as well as many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to friends Marjorie Wasyliw and Leona Vertefeuille-Arthur. James was born in Francis, SK and moved to Regina where he married Irene and worked at SGI for 36 years. He loved music and sang in the Regina Male Voice Choir for 57 years, was a 53 year founding member of the Regina Coin Club, was an avid Roughrider fan and he enjoyed gardening and metal detecting. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and had a smile for everyone. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue on Tuesday, June 2 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Francis Cemetery, Francis SK., at 2:30 p.m.
