On Friday, May 29, 2015, JOYCE E. RAUW (nee Martinson), loving and compassionate mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the Regina General Hospital at the age of 88 years, surrounded by family. She will be sadly missed by her six children, Murray (Maureen) of Calgary, Allan of Calgary, Dwayne (Lois) of Halifax, Dale (Debbie) of Regina, Janice (Mark) Wood of Regina, and Dawn (Rob) Knowles of Edmonton. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her husband John (Johnny); an infant son; her parents Arnfin and Olga Martinson of Rose Valley, SK; her brothers Royal, Norman, Clarence, Archie, and Ollie, and her sisters Louise and Ethel. Joyce was born in Rose Valley, Saskatchewan on June 20, 1926 and lived on the farm near Rose Valley until she moved to Humboldt, Saskatchewan to study nursing at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. She met her husband Johnny there and together they raised their family in Humboldt for twenty years. They moved to Regina in 1965 where she delighted in her family and continued her career as a health care provider. In her later years, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her pets were the lights of her life. Cremation has taken place and Joyce will be laid to rest together with her husband at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in Regina. At her request, a Celebration of Life and interment will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff in Ward 6A at the Regina General Hospital for their professional and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Regina Humane Society, 285 Armour Road, Regina, SK., S4P 3G7 or a charity of choice.
