Obituary of Christopher Andrew James

July 12, 1939 to May 31, 2015 Chris passed away peacefully surrounded by his entire family on May 31, 2015 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, after a very brief battle with cancer. Chris was predeceased by his parents Donald and Audrey; brother Bruce and infant granddaughter Kendall. Left to cherish his memory is his best friend, the love of his life, and wife of 55 years, Gwen; daughter Wendy (Ron Lustig) Austin and Reid; daughter Raylene (Kelly Hawrysh) Carly and Jessica; son Kelly (Corinne) Chris and Matt; son Cary (Jen) Eric and Emily. Chris is also survived by his brother Don (Beryl); sister-in-law Lillie and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Chris and Gwen retired to Whiteswan Lake in northern Saskatchewan in 1992 where they cultivated many lasting friendships while fishing, ice fishing, quadding, and snowmobiling. He was very active in his community including the snowmobile club, cottagers association, and fire department. Chris touched everyone with his quick wit and unique sense of humour and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He left us with many stories and memories that will make us laugh for years to come. Chris’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff on Unit 3B at the Pasqua Hospital for their kind care and compassion during Chris’s brief stay there. A Celebration of Chris’s life will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 3510 Queen Street, Regina, SK., on Thursday June 4, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Craig Moeller officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Chris’s memory to the Whiteswan Snowhawks Snowmobile Club, Box 35, Meath Park, SK, S0J 1T0.
