Obituary of Alice Hannah Watson

July 28, 1921 - June 2, 2015 Alice Hannah Watson, B.A., B.Ed., was born on July 28, 1921, in Atwater, Saskatchewan, and died on June 2, 2015, in Regina, Saskatchewan. Alice was raised in Atwater until 1928 when she and her family moved to Melville where she completed her schooling. She attended the University of Saskatchewan, graduating with a B.A. in English and B.Ed. in 1943-44. She taught high school in Preeceville and Melville before she and Gordon were married in 1948. They made their home in Lethbridge AB before moving to Regina in 1951 where they lived the rest of their lives. Alice was a loving wife and mother, caring for her family at all times. She was predeceased by her parents, Hans and Esther (Sandberg) Luross; her husband and best friend, John Gordon Watson (2001); her brother, Harvey Luross, and her nephew, Lorne Luross. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Diane of Regina; her son, Greg of Vancouver; her sister-in-law, Peggy Luross of Regina, and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff at Pioneer Village, Main West, for their loving and thoughtful care during her nine-year residence there. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK., on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. Flowers most gratefully declined. If friends and family wish, donations may be made in Alice's memory to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, 1874 Scarth Street, Regina, SK., S4P 4B3, or a charity of their choice.
