Obituary of Dona Marie Barlow

Dona Marie Barlow, born in Regina on August 28, 1949, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015 with her family by her side. Predeceased by her parents Ross and Norma Barlow, Dona is survived by her son Aaron (Christine); brother Garnet (Anne); nephews Charles (Lynn) and William, and great nieces and nephews Eleanor, Angus, Madelaine and Maxwell as well as many precious extended family members in and around Regina. Dona grew up in Regina and attended Sheldon Williams Collegiate. She spent most of her career at the Regina Public Library retiring in 2011 after 21 years of dedicated service. Dona was an avid reader, had a penchant for colourful language, cheered for the bad guys in movies and was a devoted animal lover. She spent her retirement years volunteering for various cat rescue organizations fostering, fundraising, feeding and trapping abandoned, stray and feral cats. Dona also loved spending summers with family and friends at Lumsden Beach which held a very special place in her heart. She will be missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to express their gratitude to her dear friends Coral Peterson and Pat Schuett as well as cousins Muffy Truscott and Jill Powell for their unwavering support to Dona and family during this difficult time. At Dona’s request, a private family interment and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
