Obituary of Thelma Doreen Tunison

THELMA DOREEN TUNISON (nee Chamberlin) On Sunday June 14, 2015, in Regina, the winged messenger of God came and whispered “sleep,” and quietly Thelma Doreen Tunison (nee Chamberlin) fell into a peaceful slumber to awaken again “On the bright and cloudless morning when time shall be no more.” She was born on November 26, 1927 in Rouleau, SK to farmers Ernest and Annie Chamberlin (nee Harden). Although she had been for some months in a feeble condition, her departure was not so quickly expected. It is needless to say how she will be missed in the family. Her life was spent in Saskatchewan where Doreen worked on the farm, taught school and tended to her family. But a higher service has summoned her. Her going beyond the vale of tears keenly touches her son Wayne (Kiet); four grandchildren, Julia, William (Farrah), Yolande (David) and Anna; surviving sisters Eileen and Marina; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. She will reunite in paradise with her parents, husband Fred, siblings Bus, Frances, Ken and Grant, and other family and friends. “There is no death; what seems so is transition” to the ethereal mansion not made by hands. May thoughts of this better life comfort all her loved ones left on earth, through the Spirit of Life who shall quicken our mortal bodies to conform them to His own glorious body. Upon her request, there will be no funeral service, but a graveside ceremony will take place in Riverside Memorial Park at a later date. Sleep on sweet spirit; we will meet again on the rose hills of God where we never part. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing, may make donations in memory of Thelma, to the Knox-Metropolitan United Church Memorial Fund, 2340 Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 0S6.
