Obituary of Bernadette Monica Hickie

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished wife, mother, and grandmother. Bernadette was predeceased by her parents, Helen and John; sister Barbara; and infant brother James. She is survived by her loving husband John; daughters, Jennifer (Rob) and Angela (Brent); grandchildren, Andrew, Brendan, Caitlin, and Elise; brothers, Aloysious, Alfonso, Joseph, and Ralph; and extended family and friends. Bernadette will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her selfless, generous and loving nature, and her special gift with children. In her professional life, Bernadette was an outstanding teacher, loved by students and parents alike. A true “people person”, Bernadette touched the lives of many. She was a perfectionist, with a strong work ethic, unparalleled organizational skills, and a spotlessly clean house. Bernadette was fun, spontaneous, and followed her own rules. She was always willing to share her delicious homemade baking and a word of advice. Although we will miss her terribly, we feel so blessed to have had her in our lives for the time we did.
