Obituary of Joseph James Routledge

February 2, 1928 – July 8, 2015 It is with great sadness to announce the loss of a much loved father, grandfather and friend, Joseph Routledge. He was preceeded by his loving wife of 55 years Peggy in 2011 and his son Iain in 1981. He leaves behind his daughters, Joy Routledge, Ann (Brent) Albert and his pride and joy - his granddaughter Krysten. Joseph was born in Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1950 after death of his parents and the scattering of the siblings with World War II. After working in agriculture and the saw mills of British Columbia for 4 years he decided to have more stability by joining the Royal Canadian Air Force which he made his career for 25 years. While in the service, he met his wife Peggy. Throughout their marriage his career had them travelling throughout Europe, and had them stationed in various places through Canada from Chatham, New Brunswick all the way to Comox, British Columbia. Finally settling in Regina, Saskatchewan where Joe retired in 1991. Following retirement, he and Peggy travelled extensively before her illness and passing, at which time Joe moved in with his daughter Joy until the end of his life journey. The family would like to express their appreciation for the compassion, understanding and kindness shown by the staff of 5F at this very difficult time.
