Obituary of Adele Katherine Snell

With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Katherine Adele Snell on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the age of 100 years at Regina Wascana Grace Hospice. Kay was predeceased by her son Jerry in 1982; husband Philip in 1984; daughter-in-law Joan; sisters, Freda Einfeld and Lea Leib; and brothers, Ernie and Charlie Leib. She is survived by daughter Katherine Elaine (Gerry Runolfson) of Vancouver, BC and her children, Todd and Michelle; son Wayne of Regina, SK and his children, Amanda (Troy Benyei) and her children, Kaydence and Tristan; and Stephanie of Southey, SK; granddaughter Brenda (Rick Arnau) of Abbotsford, BC and her children, Hunter, Christian and Olivia; grandson Brent (Madeline) of Squamish, BC and his daughter Jocelyn; and granddaughter Jocelyn (Marcel Lessard) of Vancouver Island, BC and her children Mark and Allissa. Kay was born on December 14, 1914, in Tenby, Manitoba to Peter and Louise Leib. She graduated Grade 12 from Gladstone High School in Gladstone, Manitoba in 1932. On October 14, 1937 she married Philip Snell and to this union three children were born. Kay stayed home to raise her children and moved to Regina in 1965 with her husband and their youngest son Wayne. Kay worked for the Federal Government with the P.F.R.A. Kay was an expert seamstress, an avid reader, wrote many beautiful poems, some of which were published. Kay loved to paint and to draw. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Riverside Memorial Park. Donations in memory of Kay may be made to Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK, S4R 8P6.
