Obituary of Evagelia Panagopoulos

EVAGELIA PANAGOPOULOS With great sadness we announce the passing of Lia Panagopoulos, late of Regina, SK, on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the age of 66. Lia passed peacefully with her family by her side. Predeceased by her parents Spiro and Anastasia. She is survived by her children, John, Alexandra and Spiro; siblings Voula (John-deceased) of Regina, SK; Ageliki (Nikos) of Greece; John of Victoria, BC; and numerous nieces and nephews throughout Canada and Greece. Lia was born in Stolos, Greece and in 1968 immigrated to Canada and eventually settled in Regina where she was known in the Greek community for her store, Kalamata Import Foods. Lia had an enormous heart and unconditional love for her family. Lia's friends knew her for her love of laughter and sense of humor as she was always ready to make you laugh with one of her many jokes. She will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the staff at the ICU, Pasqua Hospital for their care and compassion. A Prayer Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 7:00 pm with Father Daniel Nenson officiating. The Funeral Service will take place at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church, 3000 Argyle Road, Regina, SK S4S 2B2 on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Father Spyridon Vandoros officiating. Interment to follow in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Lia, be made to St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church.
