Obituary of Ludovick Lewis Geni

LUDOVICK LEWIS GENI March 14, 1928 – July 26, 2015 Lewis Geni, late of College Park II in Regina SK, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2015 at the age of 87. Predeceased by his parents, Peter and Molly Gien; brothers, Rudolph (Mary) Gieni; George (Kaye) Gieni; Jack Gieni; sisters, Minnie (Walter) Mooney, Amelia (Al) St. Onge, Anne (Ernie) Mathewson, Madalene (Fred) Chinski; sister-in-law Clarice Gieni; son-in-law Glen Neamtu; nephews, Reese Gien, Warren Gieni; niece Joan St. Onge; great nephews, Curtis Thackary and John Ludwic. Lewis is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Eugenia; his children, Gerald (Donna); Marilyn (Calvin) Wittal of Drayton Valley AB, Yvonne Neamtu of Calgary AB, Barry of Kelowna BC, Tim (Lesia) of Wilcox SK, Larry (Linda), Colleen (Doug) Harle, Jeanniene (Frank) McInally; fifteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Eddie Gieni, Peter (Florence) Gieni, David (Cheryl) Gien; sister-in-law Lena Gieni; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lewis was born on the homestead farm of his parents at Kayville SK. He joined the Regina City Fire Department in 1957, and retired as Captain in 1986. He will forever be remembered. The family wishes to thank the staff at College Park II for their compassion and care for Lewis. A special thank you to nurses and doctors at the Palliative Care Ward of the Pasqua Hospital. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina SK on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s RC Church, 100 Argyle Street, Regina SK. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park.
