Obituary of Mary Batryn

MARY BATRYN September 21, 1923 – July 30, 2015 It is with deep sadness that God claimed another angel on July 30, 2015. Mom passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Mary was born on September 21, 1923 in Venlaw, Manitoba to Roy and Anne Musey. After finishing school she moved to Windsor, ON to take hairdressing. She moved back to Venlaw where she met and married John Batryn on November 7, 1946. Most of Mom’s life was spent raising her children, cooking and gardening. Lots of people will miss her perogies, cabbage rolls and homemade bread. Mary is survived by her three daughters, Lorraine Grywacheski, Darlene (Dennis) Semenuik and Shirley (Kelvin) Dick; grandchildren, Trina, Crystal, Darcy, Christopher, Corey, Dalton and Chelsey; four great-grandchildren; brother Ernie Musey; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband John; parents, Roy and Anne; daughter Nadia; son-in-law Eugene Grywacheski; great-grandson Auston; and three brothers, Peter, Dan and John. We would like to thank Kelsey Manor staff members Lynn and Bonnie, who looked after Mom in her last months. She loved staying there and felt at home. Prayers will take place at Descent Of The Holy Spirit Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1305-12th Avenue, Regina on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will also be at Descent Of The Holy Spirit Ukrainian Orthodox Church on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
