Obituary of Lisa Colleen Strang

LISA COLLEEN STRANG It is with great sadness that the family of Lisa Colleen Strang announces her sudden passing on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the age of 47 years. A native of Saskatchewan and resident of McLean for 17 years, Lisa attended the University of Regina, graduating with a Bachelors of Administration in 1990. A former employee of SIAST, in 2003 she began what would be more than a decade-long career as the Director of Finance for the Saskatchewan Party, during which time she earned her CMA and CPA designations. Lisa helped guide the organization through unprecedented change and growth over the course of her career, and she became an indispensable source of information and guidance to members of the Saskatchewan Party at all levels. Lisa’s friends and colleagues will miss her uncanny memory for details, her passion for reading, her hand-made gifts for every occasion, even the unexpected ones, her love of animals (not just her own), her stubbornness, her humility, her addiction to Diet Dr. Pepper, and her abundant gratitude for even the smallest kindness. Lisa will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Marge and Doug Thomas, her Aunts and Uncles: Pat and Tom Torgrimson, Carol and Bob Walton, Sue and Ray Thomas and Carolyn Thomas. Numerous cousins including those closest to her: Sheri, Glenn and Jeff Torgrimson; her many colleagues and friends spanning the province, and her beloved pets. Lisa was predeceased by her grandparents: Marion and Len Walton; Mary and Ernest Thomas. A Celebration of Lisa’s life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2015. Flowers most gratefully declined.
