Obituary of Patricia Laxdal

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, aunt, sister, abuela, and friend Patricia Laxdal, who lost her battle with cancer on August 14th, 2015. Patricia was predeceased by her mother Nelly Rosalba Mesa Pinzon, father Francisco Angel Nieto Venegas, and first husband William Kenneth Laxdal. She is survived by her loving husband William Brown; sons Paul Laxdal, Paco Brown Laxdal and Carlos Brown Laxdal; granddaughter Isabella; a special uncle Hernando Neira, and three brothers in Colombia, Mauricio Nieto (Milena), Paco Nieto, and Claudio Nieto; father and mother in-law Chuck and Joyce Brown; brothers-in-law Donald Brown (Tracie Larsen) and Tom Brown (Ann Riccetto) all of Regina, and Victor Brown (Karen) of Ontario as well as extended family in Winnipeg, Linda Laxdal and Nancy Nagy (Harold), and numerous nieces and nephews. After leaving her native Colombia post high school, she attained a physiotherapy degree from the University of Guatemala, and subsequently spent ten years practicing physiotherapy in Costa Rica. In 1985 she moved to Canada and worked in the Children's Hospital in Winnipeg before moving to Regina and becoming a partner in a physiotherapy clinic. Patricia was a very caring and giving person whose strength and friendship kept the local Colombian community together. Her heart and mind were aimed at helping her family and friends. A very important aspect to her was to continually help and support her family and relatives in Colombia. Her zest for life, fun loving personality, and love for people will be deeply missed. Funeral Service will be held at Holy Child R.C. Parish, 2636 - 7th Avenue East, Regina, SK., on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John Weckend officiating.
