Obituary of Wai Hing Wong

Wai Hing Wong (nee Yee) passed away peacefully on September 1, 2015 at the age of 91. Wai Hing is predeceased by her parents James & Mabel Yee; her husband Mon Shing Wong in 2003, and her son George Wong in 2014. She is survived by her two sons Louie (Katty) and Charlie (Chingyee); her grandchildren Aaron (Iris), Josephine Seto (Leon), Timothy (Ginny) and Becky Mah; great grandchildren Dominick, Megan and Nathaniel Seto and Nicholas and Kianna Wong. She was born in Toisan, Canton, China. She came to Canada from Hong Kong with her husband and two younger sons to reunite with her parents and oldest son in 1967. She worked in a restaurant until she retired. She was a hard worker, energetic with a true zest for life. She loved cooking and she was an avid gardener – she didn’t have a backyard lawn - it was entirely an organic vegetable garden. She was a generous person, always giving all her vegetables to family & friends. She became a Christian through Evergreen Fellowship at Regina Chinese Alliance Church and became an activist for the Evergreen Fellowship. Her family was always her priority, especially her grandchildren. She was incredibly loving and her infectious laugh could be heard for at least a city block. Although we all miss her deeply, we know she’s playing an epic game of mah jong in heaven.
