Obituary of Edgar Cyril Watts

EDGAR (CURT) WATTS Curt passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Elmview Extendicare in Regina where he recently resided with his wife, Beulah. Curt has been Beulah’s “North Star” for the past 67 years. They were married in Tisdale in 1947 and enjoyed family, square dancing and playing cards. In 1970 they moved to Saskatoon where Dad continued his work with the Canadian Pacific Railroad until his retirement. Dad worked for the CPR for forty – four years. His resilience and commitment saw him through a career that witnessed incredible changes in technology. Dad began his work using the telegraph and concluded using computers. Dad loved to tell stories about his early days on the railroad. In the years leading up to his retirement Dad built their cabin at Candle Lake. A self-taught carpenter Dad was known for making “something out of nothing”. He loved the lake and especially loved to spend time with his son Larry and grandsons Ben and Josh there. Although Dad is now reunited with his family and many friends, he is missed and loved by his wife Beulah. Larry and his wife Glenis will miss meeting Mom and Dad for ice cream at Hart’s. Larry’s sons Ben (Agi) and Josh (Carly) and great grandsons Fin and Myles will cherish their memories of time with Papa. The Regina branch of the family including daughter Wendy and grandchildren Meagan (Justin), Amy (T.J.) and Matthew (Jacqueline) and great granddaughters Paige, Lucy and Keira will miss Papa’s peppermints and stories. Mom and Dad have family and friends in Tisdale, Saskatoon and Regina. We are so grateful to the good friends and faithful relatives who have touched our Mom and Dad’s lives over the years. More recently we have been so appreciative of the many angels who have cared for them in their time of need. Next summer our family will meet in Dad’s favorite place, Candle Lake to celebrate a life well lived.
