Obituary of Gertrude "Trudy" Jones

It is with deep sadness that the daughters of Trudy Jones announce her passing on September 8, 2015 at Pioneer Village, after a long and healthy life. Dearly beloved wife of the late Dilwyn Morgan Jones; dear mother of Diane (George) Tappin Worobey and Pat (Brian) Peacock. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Kevin Tappin, Christina (Jeff) Anderson and Michael (Shauneen) Peacock and great-grandchildren, Andrew and Gavin Tappin, Victoria Anderson and Jadeyn Viklund. Trudy was the last of the direct family of Abram & Katrina Brandt (Brandt Machinery) being predeceased by her sisters Kay, Betty, Elsie, Anne and brother Elmer. Trudy was born in Herbert, Saskatchewan in 1919 and moved to Regina at age one. She was the second youngest of the five sisters and one brother. Trudy was educated in Regina attending Balfour Collegiate. She worked at Brandt Electric and at the Highway Refinery as a bookkeeper. She and Dil were married in 1945 and lived in Vancouver for a short time before returning to Regina. Trudy was a volunteer at Red Cross and for Meals on Wheels. How she loved her bridge playing and Yahtzee. Special thanks to Eva, who Trudy cherished for their special friendship. Thank you to all the staff at Pioneer Village (2 East) for their compassionate care. A private family service will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 1738 Quebec Avenue, Unit 26, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 1V9, would be appreciated by the family.
