Obituary of Verna Carstairs Martin

Verna died on Sunday September 13, 2015 at the age of 87 years. She lived her last few years happily with son Jeff and their dogs, Took and Rollo. Verna was predeceased by her husband Jim in 2010. They had been married for 62 years. Also predeceased by her parents Howard and Effie Burton and all of her siblings, Lois Riddel, James Burton, Jean Machtmes. She is survived by her four precious children, daughter, Lisa; sons, Jeff, Scott J. and Randal (Lorraine); and one very special grandson Scott B; as well as Scott B’s brother Stuart and their mother, Gail. She is also survived by nieces, Jan, Sue, Sandy and Terry, and nephews, Howie, Brian, Bill, Brad and Robert. As members of the Lions and Lioness Clubs in both Regina and Regina Beach, Jim and Verna were fortunate to have had many good friends during their years in each community. Verna spent her life happiest as a wife, mother and home maker. She had many hobbies including knitting, reading, and crossword puzzles, she was also an avid Blue Jays fan. Over the years she also enjoyed ice-skating, skiing and golf.
