Obituary of Meinrad Kauck

MEINRAD KAUCK Meinrad Kauck passed away peacefully on September 20, 2015 in Regina, SK at the age of 80 years. Meinrad was predeceased by his parents Ewald and Elsa Kauck; father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Annie Lesiuk; son-in-law Gerry Koot; brother-in-law Harry Lesiuk; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary and Dan Gilewicz; nephew Ken Kauck and nephew-in-law Dave Batters. He is survived by his loving wife Katy of Regina; his children Colleen Koot (Balgonie) and Darwin Kauck (Regina); grandchildren Sacha Spanier (Darryl) (Regina) and Arther Myers (Hamiota, MB); great-grandchildren Kale and Brooke Spanier; brothers Karl Kauck (Hilda) (Island View), Ewald Kauck (Carol) (Regina) and Frank Kauck (Ingrid) (Kitchener, ON); brothers-in-law Steve Lesiuk (Jane) (Regina) and Johnny Lesiuk (Doris) (Weyburn); sister-in-law Jeannette Lesiuk (Montmartre); as well as many nieces and nephews. Meinrad was born on December 9, 1934 in Tereblesti, Romania. He came to Canada in 1954 with his parents and siblings. On July 11, 1959 he married Katy Lesiuk and they started a family together. He worked as an Electrician for 25 years followed by the Government for 20 years before retiring. He enjoyed sports, tending to his garden, playing cards and was a devoted church member. The last few years of his life were spent quietly appreciating the company of his family and wee little ones. He was a humorous, loving and supportive family man dedicated to lending a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by all. Prayers will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Basil’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1757 Toronto Street, Regina, SK.
