Obituary of Sister Patricia Baron

SISTER PATRICIA BARON Sister Patricia Baron (Sister Mary St. Simon) passed away suddenly in Regina on September 22, 2015. She was 71 years old and had been a member of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions for 49 years. Sister Patricia was predeceased by her parents Charles Stanley Baron and Anne Simbalist Baron. She will be greatly missed by her twin sisters Jeanette (Ronald) Ediger of Brandon, MB and Jo-Anne (Dale) Westman of St. Andrews, MB; her nieces, and extended family as well as by her religious family, the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions. Sister Patricia exercised her skill as a primary teacher in Brandon, MB, Saskatoon, SK and Moose Jaw, SK. Her natural gift for music gave a special flavor to her teaching and the students under her care participated in choirs, and school concerts. After retiring from the formal classroom Sister was involved in youth ministry and catequetical work in the parishes. Throughout her career and until the end Sister was in demand for her lively impromptu sing-a-longs in senior residences and nursing homes as well as in informal gatherings of friends. A Celebration of Sister Patricia’s life will take place at Santa Maria, 4215 Regina Ave., Regina, SK, on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends so wishing may make a donation in memory of Sister Patricia to the Sisters Mission Fund, 393 Gaboury Place, Winnipeg, MB, R2H 0L5.
