Obituary of Glen Arthur Mead

GLEN ARTHUR MEAD September 4, 1957 – October 8, 2015 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and uncle on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the age of 58, after a short but courageous battle with leukemia. Glen was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Murle Mead, his in-laws Samuel and Elizabeth Ollinger; and many aunts and uncles. Glen is survived by his loving family, his wife of thirty-six years, Donna (née Ollinger), daughters, Michelle Mead and Amanda Mead, and son Tim Mead; grandchildren, Tracy Mead, Landyn Mead and Alecia Schuba; daughter-in-law Dawn Mead; brother Robert (Sam) and Linda Mead; sister Myrna and Jim Peno; sisters-in-law, Doreen Kovach, Linda Guraluk and Marilyn Ollinger; brothers-in-law, John and Donna Ollinger, Stan and Bev Ollinger; several nieces, nephews and cousins; aunts, Lorraine Rayner and Bernice Lawson; as well as many good friends. Glen was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on September 4, 1957. He was raised on a farm west of Bethune, Saskatchewan. Glen moved to Regina in the late 70’s, met and married Donna in 1978. He was employed by the City of Regina for 38 years, where he ran heavy equipment until shoulder surgery left him unable to work. He loved to go camping, which we did for thirty years with our family and friends. Glen loved to watch movies in the comfort of his home and he also watched the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He faithfully watched his NHL hockey team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. GO LEAFS GO! Glen, you will be missed xoxoxo. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Glen’s memory to a charity of your choice.
