Obituary of Curt Zimmer

Curt Zimmer, late of Regina, SK, passed away at the age of 81 on Monday October 12, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Martha Zimmer; brother Art Zimmer and brother-in-law Bill Schmirler. Curt is survived by his special partner Fran Niels; son Darvin (Dawn) and grandchildren Colby and Krista; daughter Yolanda (Kim) Spencer and grandchildren Tyler and Brett; sister Edith Schmirler; sister-in-law Marge Zimmer; nieces and nephews; Curt’s extended family Ken and Wenda Niels, Karen and Barry Hajawich, Brad and Jackie Niels and their families. Curt enjoyed his work as a barber and enjoyed the company of his clientele. So much so, that he did this work until he was 79. He enjoyed many years of hunting, trap shooting, camping and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and friends. His stories, witty charm and sense of humor will be sadly missed by all. The family would like to extend their thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Pasqua Palliative Care Unit for the care they provided. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Speers Family Center, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK, on Saturday October 17, 2015 from 7-9 p.m. An informal program to share memories will begin at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Curt’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4P 2R3.
