Obituary of Teresa Momongan Israel

Predeceased by husband Felix Abapo Israel, parents Claudia Mercado Momongan and Miguel Momongan, Brothers Jesus Momongan (Paz), Jose Momongan, Alfredo Momongan, nephews Miguel, Ernesto, Regino and Alberto Momongan; beloved cousins Isabel, Lourdes and Pacita (Sister Rosario) Mercado, she is survived by her children Jessica (Benjamin) Hernando, Francisco (Melissa) Israel, Vicente (Jennifer) Israel, Ricardo (Mayette) Israel, Helen Grace Israel, Maria Stella (Mario) Lofranco, Alvin (Elizenda) Israel, Lester (Sharon) Israel, Diana (Gary) Lazo and Edna Israel; grandchildren Bernard (Tiffany) Hernando, Benjamin Junior (Lanie) Hernando, Jennifer (Naroth) Uy, Francis (Debbie), John, Kathleen, Marianne and Jacob Israel, Vincent Israel, Ann and Lalaine Israel, Ruth Israel Gonzaga, Aldrin (Geselle May) Lofranco, Mark Lofranco, Cain Lofranco, Anthony and Ashley Israel, Arlene (Leang) Lazo Chhuon and Isiah Lazo; great grand-grandchildren Feliz Corazon Hernando, Xavier Uy, Elijah Lazo Chhuon, Lucas Lazo Chhuon, Jadakiss Elijah Gonzaga, Dale Yuan Israel, Celine, Rav and Elijah Lofranco as well as several nieces and nephew living and deceased. Mama Teresa graduated Bachelor of Science in Education in the Philippines but hasn’t been able to teach professionally, instead been busy raising and teaching her 10 children about life and the love of God. She used to belong to the organization Mother Butler Mission Guilds – which provide altar vestments in poor churches in Phils. Here in Canada she belonged to the Rosary group and Bukas Loob sa Dios (BLD) prayer group. For her apostolic work, she made rosaries and supplied them to groups to distribute to places such as Russia and missions in 3rd world countries. She has touched everyone through her unconditional love and non stop prayer and devotions to the Blessed Sacrament, Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. A Visitation will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service details will follow in a future edition of the Leader Post. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 2026 Winnipeg Street, Regina, SK with Rev. Dr. Vitalis Azike Celebrant, on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with interment in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. Reception will follow at the Speers Family Center, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK.
