Obituary of Margaret Dorothy Holte

Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Saturday January 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Margaret Holte, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the age of 99 years. Predeceased by parents Frank and Maud Jares; husband Carl; daughter Shirley Lohmeyer; son-in-law Henry Lohmeyer; sister Josephine; and granddaughter Christine. Margaret is survived by granddaughters Cheryl (Gordon) McIntyre and Maxine Patterson; great grandchildren Rebecca (Stuart) and Colin, as well as her sister-in-law Annie Holte and numerous nieces, nephews and special niece Muriel Matchett and family. Margaret married Carl in 1935 and Shirley was born in 1936. Together they ran small grocery stores in Hendon, Glentworth and Verwood before moving to Regina in the 50's. Margaret and Carl purchased and rented apartment buildings until she retired in the 1990's. Margaret looked after Carl and Frank for many years before their passing. She enjoyed curling, traveling and her family. She was a great fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. She also enjoyed her daily coffee with friends at the Golden Mile and the annual birthday parties. Flowers are gratefully declined. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, to be announced.
