Aloise Baer

Obituary of Aloise John Baer

Aloise John Baer, late of Regina, SK, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the age of 83 years. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Veronica; brother Paul; sisters Sophie and Betty; ex-spouse Doreen. Aloise is survived by son, Robert and daughters Susan of Calgary and Sandy (Craig) of Winnipeg; sister Mary of Calgary and brother Donald of Bonnie Lake, Washington; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Al worked various jobs in his early years and was a school bus driver for 30 years up to his retirement at the age of 70. His love and commitment for his children was admirable as he always wanted to make them happy. He loved to spend time with his family and extended family in Regina. He enjoyed watching football, baseball and reruns of Columbo. He loved to travel especially visiting family in Calgary and Winnipeg and doing (as he called it) his “chores”. He had numerous friends and enjoyed taking various casino trips with them. He always liked to keep busy, working on small projects and "fixing things”. He had a wonderful sense of humour, never took things too seriously, and always enjoyed making people laugh. Also known as “Pappy” to his daughter and son-in-law’s friends in Winnipeg, he enjoyed their company whenever he came to visit. He will be sorely missed by family and friends alike. Dad, you were the best. You always looked out for our best interests, made light of situations and ensured we always had “fun”. We miss you dearly and you will be loved forever. A Graveyard Service will take place at the Riverside Memorial Gardens on Saturday, November 14, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Regina Humane Society.
