Obituary of William Lyle Rublee

It is with deep sadness and tremendous love that the family of William Lyle Rublee of Regina announce his peaceful passing on November 14, 2015 at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre. Lyle is survived by his loving wife, Joyce (Bond of Assiniboia); son Bradley Rublee (Barb) of Saskatoon; grandson Dennis Rublee, Calgary; daughter Cindy Rublee (Marco Gruwel), Winnipeg; and grandchildren Casimir Gruwel and Marieke Gruwel of Winnipeg. Lyle is also survived by a sister-in-law, Beryl Laronge (Paul); brother-in-law Bill Bond (Pat) as well as several nieces and nephews. Lyle was born in Allan, Saskatchewan on November 10, 1931, an only child to Beatrice and Reval Rublee. He was brought into this world by his grandfather, Dr. O.E. Rublee. Lyle graduated from Kenaston High School and went on to Saskatoon where he attended business school. His career took him from Saskatoon to Moose Jaw (where he met Joyce); Moose Jaw to Regina with the CPR; Regina to Winnipeg to St. Paul, Minnesota with the Burlington Northern and lastly with Kalium Chemicals in Regina from 1967 to his retirement in 1994. Lyle and Joyce had 61 wonderful years together raising their family. He loved to take his children and grandchildren fishing and camping, and spent many beautiful summers at the cabin. Lyle and Joyce enjoyed travelling, dancing, and spending their retirement exploring with their motor home. Lyle was an amazing man who accepted his diagnosis of CBGD with dignity, never complaining and continuing to put his family first. He was very caring, compassionate and kind, always showing consideration for others. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed more than words can say. The family wish to thank the wonderful staff at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for the exceptional and loving care Lyle received while residing there from January 2015 to November 2015. A private family service will be held on Thursday, November 19, in celebration of Lyle’s life. Till we meet again. Memorial donations may be made in Lyle’s name to Unit 2-5 at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, 2180-23rd Avenue, Regina, SK, S4S 0A5 or to a charity of your choice. Flowers gratefully declined.
