KENNETH GERALD MINIELY March 4, 1928 – November 11, 2015 Kenneth passed away at the age of 87 years at Regina, SK. Ken is survived by children, Linda Dufour and Alfred Dybvig (Wendy); grandchildren, Camille Dufour (Bob Herbison), Ken Dufour (Mary) and Darryl Dybvig; great-grandchildren Braden (Taffeta), Brett (Asha) and Bryce (Samantha) Fitterer, Emma and Eric Dufour and Elle Dybvig; great-great grandchildren, Elliott and Atlas; brother-in-law John Morrow (Marilyn) and nephews, Ricky (Lisa) and Shane (Dani); great-niece Lucy and great-nephews, Jack and Kael; sister-in-law Marion Miller; niece Lynette Corum; and nephews, Garry, David and Gordon Miniely. Ken was predeceased by his mother Evelyn (McRobert) Miniely and beloved wife Ariel Clare (Morrow) Miniely. Also predeceased by father Lester R. Miniely, grandfather Robert A. Miniely, uncle Gordon W. Miniely, and brother Robert E. Miniely, all Canadian National Railway (CNR) Morse Telegraph Operators/Station Agents. Ken was born in a CNR Station in Demaine and raised in Bruno from 1929 to 1945. He commenced work with CNR as a Morse Telegraphic Operator at Prince Albert on June 29, 1946. Ken relieved agents all over Prince Albert and Saskatoon Divisions. He worked major terminals at Prince Albert, SU Office, North Battleford, Saskatoon City Yard Office, Kindersley, Biggar, Watrous and Melville. Ken married Clare Morrow on June 6, 1951 at Shell Lake. After their marriage, Ken worked as a Station Agent at Parkman, Pathlow, Crooked River, Valparaiso, Brancepeth, Arborfield, Cranberry Portage, MB for 10 years and Churchill, MB for five years. Ken’s morse telegraphic signature was “KN”. In his younger years, Ken was a Mason and Royal Arch Mason with Hudson Bay Lodge, and Past Patron Order of the Eastern Star, Tisdale. Ken retired in 1983 from Churchill at age 55 with 37 years of railway service. Ken and Clare lived at Shell Lake for 13 years, then moved to Regina in 1996. They wintered in Mesa, Apache Junction and Yuma, Arizona until 2001, when Clare suffered a stroke and was a patient at Wascana Rehab until she passed in 2006. In keeping with Ken’s wishes there will be no funeral service. Ken’s ashes will be laid to rest with his dear wife Clare at the Shell Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken’s memory to the Regina Humane Society, P.O. Box 3143 Stn Main, Regina, SK, S4P 3G7.
