Obituary of Hazel Elnora Flavel Underhill

Hazel Underhill, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, surrounded by the love of her family, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at the age of 83. She was predeceased by her mother Emma; father Roy; brother Orville; first husband Kenneth Flavel; second husband Brock Underhill and daughter Debbie. Left to mourn her passing and cherish her memory are sisters Millie Flavel, Edna Gessner and Joyce Wagner; brothers Allan Hanson (Marlene) and Bob Hanson (Myrna); daughter-in-law Morgan Traquair; children Danny Flavel (Joyce), Darcy Flavel (Deb), Kim Flavel (Diane), Blair Flavel (Glenna), Dawn Mangel (Darrell) and Brad Flavel (Tera-Lee); step-children Dean Underhill (Carey) and Rhonda Underhill (Glenn); grandchildren Adrian (Sara), Deena (Bill), Melissa (Greg), Jody (Deana), Amanda (Austin), Tiffany (Travis), Kenny, Angela, Kyle, Kevin, Courtney (Dennis), Chris (Melissa), Stephanie (Durrant), Travis (Kelly), Brianna (Brad) Colton (Tessa), Taylor, Carter, Dane and Blake; great-grandchildren Alex (Josh), Tucker, Denny, Parker, Kennidy, Kody, Cole, Reed, Aiden, Emma, Reyna, Ethan, Rowyn, Penelope, Jenna, Carson, Matthew, Mattea, Emerson, Emma, Madison, Hailey, Zachary, Twyla and Fallon as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Hazel was born in Regina on February 13, 1932. She went to school in Stoneycroft, and worked briefly in Regina. She met Ken Flavel in her teens, and they married September 19, 1950. They operated a mixed farm in the Marieton district and raised seven children. Two years after Ken’s death (1970), Hazel moved with four children into Regina, where she met and married Brock Underhill (1979). They enjoyed their cottage on Long Lake, travel, golf and fishing but Hazel’s world revolved around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Hazel will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Kathy Platt officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Special thanks to the staff at Grace Hospice. Flowers are gratefully declined.
