GORDON NICHOLAS DURAN Gordon passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the age of 87 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Loretta in 2006; father Charles; mother Evelyn; brothers, Michael and Donald. Gordon is survived by sons, Michael (Elizabeth), David, Chris, and daughter Susan Mayer (Fred Ayers); grandchildren, Keith (Kim), Derek (Randeen), Scott and Curtis Duran, Kelly (Dean Kuntz), Jeremy Mayer, Ashlee (Kenton Steckler), Haylee and Nikolaus Duran; great-grandchildren, Kayle, Kyle, Karson, Logan, Travis, Claira, Madyson Duran, Taylor and Sarah Kuntz. Gordon was born in 1928 in Regina, and married Loretta in 1949. He was employed at the Co-op Refinery for thirty-four years. Gordon and Loretta retired to their cottage at Katepwa Lake and enjoyed many years there. He recently moved to Fort Qu’Appelle into a house he designed and had built. Gordon suffered a stroke on July 28 and moved into Sunset Extendicare, where he was happy until his passing. He thought of the staff there as ‘his girls (and guys)’ and loved joking with them. The family wishes to thank all the Sunset staff for their care and kindness to our father, grandpa and great-papa. Funeral Mass will be held at Little Flower R.C. Church, 420 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Jose T. Periyilkatte celebrant. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memory of Gordon, to the charity of their choice.
