Obituary of Pat Krause

MARY PATRICIA “PAT” KRAUSE Pat, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 7, 2015, at the age of 85 years. Predeceased by her beloved husband of forty-four years, Frank Ernest Krause, and by her parents, Dr. Allan Walker Blair and Florence Mary Wilson Blair. Pat is lovingly remembered by her four children, Judith, Jim (Anna), Barbara, Kathy Pearpoint (Randy); her three granddaughters, Leanna (Yojo), Lex Kress (Jon) and Corinna; her two great grandsons, Austen Krause and Smith Kress; her brother, Allan Blair of Burnaby BC; and her sister, Heather Verhoeven of Regina, along with numerous nieces and nephews and special cousins. Pat had a passion for the written word. An award-winning author of fiction and non-fiction, she worked as a freelance journalist, a communication officer and a broadcaster. Known for her deep raspy voice and her unique (and loud) laugh, Pat was an enthusiastic and generous supporter of others. Her family will miss her quick wit, her zeal for adventure and life, her stories, and the unqualified love she gave each of us. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Maria Parasram, Monica Sugrim and the excellent staff at Gardiner Point Care Home for providing a wonderful loving home base for our mother for the past two years. We'd also like to thank Dr. W. Llewelyn-Williams and the nurses of 3E, Regina General Hospital, for their compassionate care. Our mother's longtime wish to have her cherished friend, Dr. Jarol Boan, as her medical care-giver was granted just in time. A celebration of Pat's life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. led by officiant Jeff Christiansen. Reception to follow at Speers Family Centre. A private family interment will take place. Flowers most gratefully declined.
