Deborah Behm

Obituary of Deborah Ann Behm

Deborah was predeceased by her father John; god-mother Delia Morris, and special uncle Hugh McNamee. Left to mourn are her husband Sean Meehan; daughter Alicia; son Matthew; mother Elizabeth Behm; brother-in-law Richard Meehan; sisters Liz and George Bryce, Shelley Behm, Nancy and Paul Cervenko, Anna Marie and Henry Funke, Maria and Stan Chow; brother Tom and Sandra Behm; nephew Chris and Yuka Wallace, and many loved nieces and nephews. Her vibrant spirit will also be missed by her numerous friends. Debby’s greatest happiness in life was her family. She passionately pursued her interest in fibre. She received a national arts board research grant from the Canada Council for the Arts to study spinning & weaving in Western Canada and Saskatchewan Arts Board grants relating to natural wool dyeing. Debby enjoyed teaching fibre arts to children and adults through the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre over many years. She held a Master’s Certificate in Hand Knitting and was a teacher in the Olds College Master Spinner program. Several of her articles have been published in spinning and weaving journals. She was proud to complete her yoga teacher certification at 58 years of age and found her work with Renew Yoga for Cancer at Bodhi Tree Yoga fulfilling. Debby was grateful for all of the opportunities she was given to meet and learn from many people over the years. A private family visitation will be held and a celebration of Debby’s life will occur in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Deborah’s name to the Regina Humane Society, Box 3143 Stn Main, Regina, SK, S4P 3G7.
