Obituary of Joyce Lorraine Wood

Joyce was called home to her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 10, 2015. She passed peacefully and was surrounded by family that never left her side. We are happy to know she has been reunited with the love of her life and husband Laurie, who passed away in 2011. She was also predeceased by her mother Sophia McPercival. Joyce is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Son, Kelly (Debra) Wood and their children Sean (Leanne) Wood, and granddaughters Emila and Adelle, and Ryan (Melissa) Wood, and grandson Luke; son, Barry (Yvonne) Wood, and their daughters Christina and Caitlin; daughter, Donna (Tom) Hamann and their children Aaden, Matthew and Paige. Joyce suffered a fall and stroke in June 2015 from which she never fully recovered. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Llewelyn-Williams, the Palliative team, and the wonderful staff of ward 3D of the Pasqua hospital for their care and compassion during Mom’s final days. We would also like to thank the staff of Parkside Extendicare Transition Unit for their efforts in making Joyce feel at home for her final few months. She enjoyed the food immensely and raved about it to all those that came to visit her. A Celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3825 Hillsdale Street, Regina, SK, on Thursday December 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Chimirri-Russell officiating. A private interment will take place prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan 26 - 1738 Quebec Avenue Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, S7K 1V9 or a charity of your choosing.
