Brad Garvey

Obituary of Brad Garvey

Brad passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at the age of 58, with his family by his side. He was - Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Mentor, Friend. Predeceased by his father, Donald John and father-in-law Joseph Jerome Flynn. Brad is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth; daughters Sarah (Ryan), Jennifer (Ian); mother Muriel and mother-in-law Margaret Flynn; brother Dwight (Shirley); sister Rhonda (Markus); niece Kristen; nephews Thomas, Jordan; and his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews in the Flynn family. Soft spoken, private, insightful, with a keen intelligence, Brad loved all aspects of life, but most importantly he valued family. He was born and raised in Regina, a graduate of Campion College. One of his greatest accomplishments came from his time at SHEPP. Watching the change, growth and coming together of the team he worked with and the success they had together. He was very proud of the SHEPP family. In April of 2013 Brad sustained a significant injury that changed the course of his life and the lives of those who loved him. Although he has followed a different path since then, the world was still a better place with him in it. He has left us all too soon. We would like to thank everyone involved in Brad’s care and a special thanks to all the staff at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre. Memorial Service will be held at Christ the King R.C. Church, 3239 Garnet Street, on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Flowers gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations in memory of Brad to Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, 2180 - 23rd Avenue, Regina, SK S4S 0A5. “I am very lucky, I’m happy with life, because my experiences lead me to do what I had to do. I do not have any regrets whatsoever.” – Van Morrison.
