Obituary of Marion Weisgarber

Marion passed away peacefully on December 26, 2015 at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, at the age of 99. She was born on December 15, 1916 in Regina to Michael Joseph and Anne Marie (Wilhaug) Ehman. She married Anton (Tony) Weisgarber on July 9, 1945 in Holdfast, Saskatchewan. They farmed in the Lajord area for several years before moving to Regina in 1965. Marion is survived by her son Ray (Diane) of Denver, CO; grandchildren Kelly Rae Kohler and Paul Anthony; her daughter Lorraine (John) of Cochrane, AB; grandchildren Leah Marjut and David Drew; niece Alice (Wayne) Dormuth, whom she raised; grandchildren Darryl (Marni), Colin (Alison) and Leanna; four great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband in 1978; three brothers and seven sisters whom she loved dearly and often spoke of how much she missed them. Marion was blessed with many years of good health, happiness and family who loved her dearly. She was an excellent tennis player and very musically talented. She played piano for many family gatherings, and entertained many in her life with her music. Her faith remained a stronghold in her life, and she continued to find strength and comfort in her rosary and prayers. She made friends easily and her good nature, genuine smile and affectionate laugh touched the lives of many in a very positive way. She had many good friends. The family would like to thank the many staff and residents at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for the care and attention they gave to our mother and aunt. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre Chapel, 2180 23rd Avenue, Regina SK. A Reception and Celebration of Marion’s Life will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina SK.
