Obituary of Monica Beryl Morrison-Weighill

Morrison - Weighill, Monica Beryl Monica, born May 10, 1922 in London, England passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015 in Regina, SK. While working as a telephone operator in the U.K. during WWII, she met and married RCAF Sgt. F.C. (Tiny) Weighill in January 1942. Upon his release as a POW from Stalag 8B in 1945, they began farming in the Davidson area. In 1952 the family moved to Regina where she began multiple careers culminating with the Unemployment Insurance Commission. After Tiny’s death she was transferred to Ottawa where she met and married Jack Morrison. She and Jack later retired to Victoria, B.C. Upon Jack’s death, Monica returned to Regina. She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Maud Edwards, brother Ronald, sister Gwynneth, husbands F.C. (Tiny) Weighill, and Jack Morrison. Monica is survived by sons Bruce Weighill (Della), Brett Weighill (Irma), Kevin Weighill (Paulette) Clive Weighill (Lois), also, stepdaughters Sylvia, Betty-Anne and stepson Malcolm, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff at Victoria Park Care Home for their compassionate care of mother. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations, in memory of Monica, to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK S4P 2R3 would be appreciated by the family.
