Obituary of Ruth Anne Brown

RUTH ANNE (BRUNSKILL) BROWN Ruth passed away peacefully in her 96th year on January 13, 2016. Ruth was born on a farm south of Pense, Saskatchewan on August 21, 1920. She worked as a legal secretary before her marriage to Marshall Brown on June 6, 1942. Ruth was known by her family and many friends for kindness, strength, and a fun-loving nature. Ruth and Marshall were active in the community at Drinkwater until they moved to Regina in 1996. They travelled throughout the U.S. and Mexico in their motor home and on excursions to Europe, Hawaii and the Caribbean with fellow Winnebago dealers. A memorable river-rafting trip in the Grand Canyon sleeping outside under the stars each night was one of her fondest memories. We will miss her unfailing good nature and quiet ways. Predeceased by husband Marshall, parents Harry and Edith Brunskill, sister and brother-in-law Mary and David Keith and grandson Travis Brown. Left with precious memories are children Marsha Brown, Lorna Powell (Lennox), Deena Arthur (Alger Seon) and Martin Brown (Karen Namtu), grandchildren Tiffany Runge (Mark Pelka), Aimee Runge (John Culhane and son Jacob Culhane), Adam Runge (Jennifer Pick), Simi Wilhelm (Nimit Shah), Rori Lawson (Lawrence Lee and daughter Samantha Young), Carl Lawson (Marie Schatz), Tara Brown, Chelsey Brown (Jon Hobson) and Nolan Brown (Michelle Hutchinson), great-grandchildren Cody and Emilie Pelka, Hunter and Jasper Culhane, Meghan and Brandon Runge, Sanam and Zara Shah, Zachery and Mairen Lawson, Ian Lee, and Monroe and newborn Cameron Ruth Hobson, great-great-grandchildren Trey Cappo, Camila Bunnie, and Zaylee Watts and many much-loved nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK ON Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. A Reception for family and friends will follow the service at Speers Family Centre.
