Obituary of Trefor Vaughan Jones

Feb 4, 1932 - January 14, 2016 Trefor, late of Regina passed away peacefully at the Regina General Hospital on Thursday, January 14, 2016 after a lengthy illness at the age of 83 years. Trefor is survived by his wife of 55 years, Enid Anne; daughter Rachel (Reg Hamonic); sons, Gareth (Lynn) and Christopher (Yvonne); grandchildren, Justin (Sara) and Aidan (Kristin) Cameron, Devon (Connor), Shyleen, and Johnathon and great-grand daughter Serenity Jones. Trefor emigrated from England to Thunder Bay, Ontario with his young family in 1968 and in 1973 the family settled in Regina. Trefor worked in the Chemistry and Geology departments at the University of Regina before moving to the RCMP Forensic Lab where he worked until his retirement in 1995. In retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, as well as working in his wood shop where he made many pieces of furniture which will be his lasting legacy. He continued to follow the English Premier League soccer as well as being a season ticket holder with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Trefor and Anne enjoyed travel and took several trips back to the United Kingdom. They also travelled to Alaska and various parts of Canada and the United States. Trefor and Anne also were long time supporters of the Globe Theatre and enjoyed live music. The family would like to thank the wonderful caring staff at Riverbend Crossing and the Regina General Hospital for helping to make his final days comfortable. Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, 1861 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK on Wednesday January 20, 2016 at 1:30 p.m.
