Obituary of George Joseph Desautels

GEORGE JOSEPH DESAUTELS George passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the age of 87 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife Lois; parents Victor and Theresa Desautels and siblings Roger (Helen) and Oliver (Marvis) Desautels. George is survived by daughter Noelle Melnychuk (Allan); son Gene Desautels (Michelle); grandson Anthony Desautels; siblings, Florence Lutes and Armand Desautels (Gerry) of Regina, Claude Desautels (Rose) and Yvette Leveille of Calgary, AB. George was born in Regina, SK on October 3, 1928, and grew up on the family farm in Lajord, SK. He loved to travel, meet new people, was an avid Roughrider fan and could build and fix anything. George spent most of his working career with Gulf Oil. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Memorial Service will be held in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina SK on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memory of George, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, Unit 26 – 1738 Quebec Avenue, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9
