Obituary of Jarod Karl Faustmann

Jarod passed away peacefully on Friday February 5, 2016 in Regina General Hospital. Jarod at the age of 9, will be missed by his parents mother Shauna Schappert; father Bodey Faustmann and step-mother Christina Faustmann; brother Ethan Faustmann; step brother Zach Faustmann; grandparents Bonnie Fathers, Bart and Vickie Bricksaw and Mike and Irene Singelton; uncles, Kale Bricksaw and Jes Faustmann; auntie Kaylee Loughran; cousin Seth Bricksaw as well as numerous extended family members and many many friends. Jarod was born on May 23, 2006 to Shauna and Bodey Faustmann in Regina, Sk. Jarod was born with Muscular Dystrophy, Epilepsy and Autism. Jarod could not walk or sit on his own, he relied on his wheelchair to get around; but that never slowed him down. Jarod enjoyed to be active, roller blading with mom, hiking in Cypress Hills with dad, or swimming with dolphins in Cuba with Ethan. Jarod could not speak but had a way of letting everyone know how he was feeling or what he wanted. He was known for his infectious smile and contagious laugh. Jarod attended Jean Vanier School. He absolutely loved school. He had many friends and amazing teachers and nurses. Jarod also attended Hopes Home, Wascana Rehabilitation for respite, Camp Easter Seals, Regina Summer program for Special Children. Jarod’s extra-curricular activities included challenger baseball, Regina Therapeutic Riding Association and swimming lessons. Funeral Service will be held at Regina Apostolic Church, 808 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina, SK, on Saturday February 13, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. Donations in memory of Jarod, may be made to the Sunshine Foundation of Canada, Dreams for Kids, 300 Wellington Street, Suite 100, London, Ontario, N6B 2L5. In lieu of flowers, please bring a teddy bear to surround Jarod’s casket. The bears will then be donated to the Children’s organizations. To honor our Superhero Jarod, please wear a Superman shirt or cape.
