Obituary of Edith Isabel Chisholm

EDITH ISABEL CHISHOLM Edith passed away peacefully at the age of 94 years on Thursday, February 11th, 2016, at Dove House, Regina, SK. She was predeceased by her husband Denis; parents, Jean and William Quine; sisters Elma, Esther and Gerry; brothers Bill, John, Edgar and Ernie; as well as her son-in-law, Dennis Draper. Left to celebrate Edith's life are her children: Carol and her children, Kelli (Mike), Leah, Cheryl, Carolyn and David; Linda and her children, Laura (Pete) and David (Christy); Margaret (Bruce) and their children Curtis (Gorana) and Sarah (Chris); Elizabeth (Rod) and children Erin (Travis), Lindsey (Kyle) and Jaime (Dru); and John (Donna) and their children Meghan and Jonathan; fifteen great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bill (Jan); and sister-in-law Mavis. Edith grew up in Conquest, Saskatchewan, and later moved to Regina with her parents. There, she pursued her musical training, achieving her ATCM. Edith worked in the Royal Bank until she met and married Denis. Edith was an accomplished accompanist and musician. She spent countless hours with children and young adults teaching piano, participating in music festivals, school and community choirs and the Regina Police Boys Band. Edith was also organist for Rosemont United Church and then St. Andrews United Church until the age of 90. She encouraged the musical education of her children and grandchildren. Edith was also a member of the Rosemont United Church U.C.W, Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch 001 and the I.O.D.E. Mom loved spending time with and was very proud of her family. The family would like to thank the staff of Dove House for the excellent care they gave mom. A Celebration of Life for Edith will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Saturday, March 12th, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers are most gratefully declined.
