Obituary of Gordon Murray Bradley

GORDON BRADLEY JULY 19, 1926 – FEBRUARY 17, 2016 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Bradley. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mabel; daughter Marilyn Boa and partner Cal Ennis; granddaughter Kimberly Boa and great-granddaughter Desteni Denouden both of Kelowna, BC; grandson Jeff Boa and partner John Stewart; brother Ken of Vancouver, BC; sisters-in-law Eileen Bradley of Kamloops, BC and Mary Gjernes of Mission, BC; brother-in-law Norman Fisher of Regina; as well as several nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by his parents Edward and Edna Bradley; sisters, Dorathy (Frank) Dobson, Herriot Fisher and brothers, Howard, William (Bill) and Edwin. Gordon was born in North Regina Village. He started working for the CNR at the age of 16 as a call boy. Gordon joined the Army on April 2, 1945 and was discharged when the war ended September 1945. He was able to continue his career with the CNR in the yard office and freight sheds and retired after 39 years. Gordon had a membership with the Royal Canadian Legion for 60 years. He was fondly known as “Bones” and loved watching golf, curling, the Blue Jays, the Riders and the Regina Pats. Gordon took part in playing slow pitch, shooting pool, golfing, fishing, curling and hockey. He especially looked forward to his golfing trips to Waskesiu and Clear Lake with his C.N. buddies. Gordon believed that anything could be fixed with a little duct tape or WD-40! He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour. He and mom enjoyed playing cards and they were most happy when spending time with family and friends. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel. A Service to Celebrate Gordon’s Life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Thursday February 25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for the wonderful loving care Dad received.
