My condolences to ALL Mr. Makie's family, I shall think of him in my thoughts and prayers with special thanks for his service of course to Canada and the Armed Forces but also for fighting to give people like me a Hong Kong (where I still live) that was safe enough to call home and to raise my three children. My condolences to Mr. Makie's family and friends. I took interest in the obituary when I read of John's connection to Sioux Lookout, Ontario. My grandparents John and Hilma Maki homesteaded between Sioux and Hudson, and my mother, Irene Maki, was born there. I'm sure they would have known of one another. I will be sure to look for the book: "The Silent Moccasins". Thank you and God bless. David Maki Edmonton
