Condolences to all the family. It was my good fortune to have worked with Gerry at PFRA. If he was in Ethiopia I hope he was following his passion and building dams.

We are saddened to hear of Gerry's passing. Gerry and Barb became friends of ours in the years we spent in the PFRA "family", and we have many happy memories of gatherings and sports events with this wonderful group of people. Steve and Gerry did a fair amount of hunting and fishing together, even driving down to southwest Sask. (a part of the world they both loved) to put out little pheasant chicks in the hope of maybe finding a grown one to shoot in the fall. I particularly remember that whenever we got together at a party, Gerry would always ask us to sing "The Green Green Grass of Home". We'll be singing it with tears in our eyes now!
Through the years, Barb always kept in touch through her excellent Christmas letters, which we looked forward to reading. Then she died, and Gerry, bless his heart, kept up the tradition. Except for this past year, when I am sorry to say, we did not.
Tracy and Brad and family, you are in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time. May you be given the courage and strength you need!
Your Friends, Steve and Carol Lane, Tisdale, SK

I was saddened with the news of Gerry's death. My heartfelt sorrow goes out to Tracy, Brad and family at this time. My memories of Gerry are many while working with Gerry at PFRA, curling in Regina and the annual PFRA Bonspiels, cheering on the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and socializing at get-togethers throughout the years.
My most recent memories are from our travels to Ethiopia in the winter of 2005 and our telephone conversation in October 2015.
Gerry loved his Ethiopian experiences. It is only fitting that his life ended either in Saskatchewan, the "green green grass of home" or in Ethiopia, "his home away from home".
Gerry, may you rest in peace forever!

My deepest and most sincere sympathy’s to Gerry’s family. I worked with Gerry at PFRA and was one of the individuals that helped book his flights and send him off to Ethiopia. Gerry was a kind and wonderful person and always had time and patience for me. On several occasions, on his many visits to see me at the office, he would take me for coffee and share stories about his many International adventures. We have kept in touch since those days and I will miss him dearly. My thoughts and prayers are extended to the family at this difficult time.

My condolences to Brad, Tracy, and family on this sad event. I had the pleasure of getting to know this fine man through my work at PFRA. Gerry was a giant of a person in more ways than one. He never had a bad word to say about anyone and was forever the patient and optimist guy. I saw Gerry as a role model in many ways, especially so in his innate ability to conduct himself in a calm, earnest and caring manner in his dealings with people of all walks of life. I will always remember Gerry's big smile whenever he was in a sing-along setting, especially when the piano keys would tune in to "the green green grass of home". May you rest in peace, Gerry.

Tracy, Brad--I am so sorry. Your dad was really good to me, including me in all of your family events, and I will miss him. He was a happy guy, always grinning, and I admire his enthusiasm for life, always looking for an adventure. He was a good role model for me. :) I'll really miss talking to him about Downton Abbey and laughing about the funny things that the dowager said in that week's episode. I love you guys, and I'm here for you. :)

My sincerest wishes to you Brad, Sarah and Tracy for strength during this most saddest of times. The world has lost the finest of gentlemen, your family has lost the finest husband and father and I have lost the finest friend. May we all take solace from the wonderful warm memories we have of your father.
Rest in Peace Gerry and may the geese fly low and may that big buck run slow!
